Placement of lazy jacks on boom

Often a part of the mainsail, usually the leech, will drop out of the lazy jacks. The lazy jacks appear to be a home-brew (I did not install them) and might not be placed in the best positions along the boom. I have 4 lines coming down to the boom.

Where are the best places to attach the 4 lazy jack lines along the length of the boom?

Re: Placement of lazy jacks on boom

Always a compromise.

By moving the lazyjacks forward, the leach may fall out, but you will be less prone to snag battens when hoisting. For this reason, mine are are somewhat forward.
