Profurl in boom furling

Just in case somebody needs to fix the Profurl boom wang gas spring. Mine lost power after leaking oil first about a month. Profurl does not make these anymore but gas spring is replaceable.
1. Drill off the rivets at both ends
2. Tap off the lower end fitting-it is tight
3. Pull out the gas spring with inner tube
4. The upper fitting is attached to the gas spring. If the gas spring is already useless and lost all power - drill a hole through the spring frame near the fitting and put a locking socket in- this allows you to lock it from spinning whille turning the end fitting. The spring has a 10 mm threat. If the spring still has pressure in it - drilling a hole is not a good idea then.
5. The spring is 2500 N - I could not find exactly the same lenght but standard 366 mm spring fits in nicely by narrowing the piston down to 10 diameter with 21 mm distance from the top
