Re: Profurl lc42 jib furler

My comment was a bit off topic but i wanted to point out potential issue. I was also just showing what types of failures and fatigues there can be as a result of salt water and wear over many miles. And that my LC32 furler, so same size as yours has 1/2" thick chainplate.
For 1/2 pins that chainplate thickness might be ok. Meat is distance from top edge of hole to top of chainplate. Thicker chain plates can have smaller distance. But your chanplate looks very thin. Is it 5/16"? I was saying your other hole seems like it had very little meat since it was elongated and worn. Lack of toggle would cause that as well. Pin needs to fit snug in that hole, there should be no point loading or elongation. Thats why those holes get reamed after drilling. Or they can get drilled using end mills which make perfectly round holes. When I get my hands on riggers apprentice, i will take a pic of the table showing pin size, chainplate thickness and what I call the meat.
