Profurl pin with threaded ends modification

threaded end of my profurl clevis pin sheared off. Threaded part holds the link plates together. See pic. this pic is from 2017 before i redid my rig. When i ordered new rigging, I replaced everything accept for two of those pins. instead, polished them and clevis part portion had no cracks so i decided to reuse it(mistake). My order with mauripro has been sitting there for days and i am beginning to think that this is not in stock. Looking elsewhere these are not so easy to get. Wichard lists them as out of stock.

I was thinking of oversizing the link plate holes to 3/4" and then just ordering a long 3/4" clevis pin that holds both toggle and link palates. then use cotter pins on the ends.

Any thoughts on that modification.
It will make this a standard component, like all other clevis pins. As opposed to a special, hard-to-source part. It will save me $$$. that special pin is around 70-80$ while 3/4" clevis pin can be had for < 20$. i have two profurl furlers. one has 3/4" pins, and one has 5/8" pins.

Re: Profurl pin with threaded ends modification

Hi, did you end up finding a solution for this?
I sent mine to Davey Jones after knocking it out to replace damaged link plates. Very upsetting.
I also need to replace everything up to the swage stud if you happen to know what I should search. Would save me valuable time and money without the need to visit a rigger which is near impossible for me at the moment with work constraints.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
