Recutting jib sun damaged leach

PO left jib on furler till the sun cover rotted off and then a little longer. Leach tape is broke down leach line is hanging out rest of sail has some life left.

My thoughts are to pull outter most head and clew patch and replace with fresh dacron. After that I'm not sure. Sail has narrow vertical panels so I could seam rip about two feet off the leach bottom to top and shrink the sail or possibly replace with new identical panels.

Not sure how to proceed any advice would be appreciated.

I should add the cover on the foot looks like a dog turd but is intact so no cutting there.

Thanks!
