Removing name from lazy bag

Hi all,
Previous owner had a good job done on placing the boat's name on the lazy bag. It is glued as well as sown. Still stuck on trying to manually remove the first letter 😭 Before I make a real good mess of it...any suggestions? Heat gun? Paint stripper?
Cheers
Joel

Yes, try a heat gun, gently.

And, another option would be to put on a patch with the new name sewn on. You may find that the fabric underneath the existing letters is dark enough to read the old name any way. Sunbrella is a more durable fabric for a boom bag than WeatherMax. Use ptfe thread.

You didn't explain what you have done to try to remove it. I'd use a seam ripper to cut all the stitching from the outside first. Remove the remaining stitching from the back, it should just pull right out if you have cut it all on the other side, and then deal with the glue.
