Samson stable braid

Does anyone have experience with this rope? Specs seem to be about the same as LS or XLS. I can get this significantly cheaper at a fishing supply store than LS at the yachting supply store.

I have no experience with this or any Samson rope but I have one comment to make: from the picture it appears to have a 16 plait cover which makes it cheaper than a better 24 plait cover. Is the LS 24 plait?

This says LS is 16. If I understand correctly how to count it looks like 16.

Re: Samson stable braid

Ive used Samson line for years, not this one but many other types. Ive found them to be good, and priced right in the fisherman chandlers Ive worked with !! just my 2 cents ! but if it feels right in your hands and they have a size to fit your needs, I don't think you can get hurt !!

Re: Samson stable braid

Samson is a good brand. Fine ropes. I'd wonder why Samson, as experienced professionals, consider it a fishing rope rather than a sailing rope. The distinction may be important - and un-obvious.
