Selden mast car to Forespar Whisker pole?

When I ordered the Selden rig for my boat last year (just launched Roberts V495), I included vertical pole storage including a bayonet car, but made the mistake of not including the whisker pole.......went to order one recently, preferred what Forespar had to offer (LC 15-27 UTS-UTR) - they were both bayonets, right?

Two months for delivery of a great looking pole....with a 1" socket that doesn't fit the 30mm Selden bayonet. Went back over the Forespar info, and picked up on the note that says Forespar fittings only fit Forespar bayonets...yea.

Really like the Selden roller bearing car, and happy with the price/feature combo of the Forespar pole......returning one or the other is not my first choice.

So - has anyone out there already figured out how to adapt a Forespar UTS socket to a Selden bayonet? strong & simple would be nice.

Should be able to machine the 30mm dick down to a 1" size provided the pin can be removed from the car.
