Self Tailers

I saw somewhere an after market tailer that could be fitted to a conventional winch. Anybody have any thoughts or experience with them?

Re: self tailers

A "Wincher" consists of a rubber ring to install around the top of a conventional (non self-tailing) winch. I have two, on the halyard winches.

IME, it isn't as effective as a true self-tailing (you have to wrap turns up to the top of the winch, under the Wincher) but it's *much* cheaper.
