Sheet ends?

I recently bought a Flying Scot and the ends of the spinnaker sheets and jib sheets all have this double metal ring on the end. I understand that these are used to speed up connecting to the sails but I don't understand how they work. Also, I'd like to know what they are called.

A picture would help here...
It sounds like you may be describing Brummel or sister hooks, which slide into each other through a slit opening, then rotate to connect the two things they're attached to. https://shop.hamiltonmarine.com/prod...xoCsL4QAvD_BwE

Yes. I found out they are sister/Brummel clips. So much sailing jargon to learn.

Sistering hooks are sometimes used to connect flags to flag halliards and they have other uses as well. And, Mate, you're right, there's a lot of language to associate only with sailing.
