Snatch blocks, keep or sell

Hi
I have a pair of Lewmar snatch blocks. I remember thinking they were an absolute must when I bought them. Now I can’t remember why. They seem to go for close to 100 dollars each at e-bay so considering selling.
It should be said that I have not sailed my boat for three years and will not for another three. Major renovation, and going through my equipment now, prepairing for blue water cruising.
It should also ve said that I do not use a spinnaker, and do not plan to have a Pardey-style parachute anchor, for which I understand snatch blocks are handy.

Is there any situation when Ill be flogging myself for having sold them?

I use them when anchoring to lead the snubber to bow cleats. Also can be used when poling out jib, keeping sheets off lifelines. In general, I use when possible fair lead issues. I'd keep them,

From the sounds of it, probably not. I have 4 and use them, but could probably get away with two and would survive with zero.

I have some on board (4 Lewmars), use them fairly often, but never have used more than 2 at the time, 90 % of the time only one at the time was used. Before you sell these, check the new prices, the Lewmars are very expensive. Hehehe, tried to sell 2 of them at 60% of the new price. That was too much for the potential buyers, and possibly they are right. But I have enough space to store them

Depending on the type they can be used in dinghy raising scheme. I'd keep them at least until the end of the refit.

Re: Snatch blocks, keep or sell

Especially on passages, we use them while reaching, for the genoa sheet (improves sail shape, on our boat); also very handy in situations where you need to keep off a dock and the wind is blowing you onto it. We use one for the stern anchor line, for a lead to a sheet winch; and we use them for spinnaker guy and sheet. To me, there are many useful things to do with them.
