I have already replaced all my shroud chainplates and a couple turnbuckles.

During that process, I found out either on here or someplace else that my turnbuckles were probably good even though they are 49 years old.

They are those chromed bronze turnbuckles with some being just a tad greenish

I plan to inspect the forestay and backstay chainplates soon and probably replace the bolts maybe

Btw, how was your trip?

I believe I read that you had made it to Florida then where Bahamas, Caribbean, Dry Tortugas?

And did you do any outside legs?

I used a Dremel and a cut-off wheel. Don't know what you mean by a 'jib block', but a piece of wood with a groove for the wire and a 90 degree slot (Miter Box) for the saw blade might help.
