Stalok fittings in Australia

Hi all,

Any Aussies out there that can advise me on buying Stalok fittings locally? Preferred reseller?

Matt

Matt,

Can you get Hayn Hi-MOD fitting in your area? Like these better than the Stalok.

Good point Bill, I'll check.and see.

The new boat already has stalok, so I'd be reluctant to change anything there, but the Duncanson is a clean slate.

Nice thing about the Hi-MODs, the thimbles are reusable so no spares needed.

It's OK Jim, it's a friend's boat. I'm helping him do the standing rigging.

Nice boat, sails very well.

But yeah, two boats is plenty for me.

Re: Stalok fittings in Australia

When I was shopping for Sta-Lok fittings a few years ago (for a friend's boat), there was a central distributor one could buy from, or order it from a chandlery. Prices were then similar, just directly was a bit faster.
That central place (for retail in Oz) does not seem to exist now. Most chandleries should have access to the products. Maybe their business model (for Oz) is changing or has changed?

Looks like I will have to deal direct with the UK.

Between these guys and Searig in NZ I’m starting to wonder if the days of the swageless fitting are numbered.

Spoke to him this morning. Very promising. He appears to be getting good service from Stalok in the UK.

Also, he just rejigged his web site to better present the Stalok range he sells.

I’ll report back on results, but thank you again for the reference.
