Strength or beauty?

In my long string of dumb questions to ask, here is another one, so try not to lose your marbles and freak out.
CDI roller furling forestay cable had a couple of broken strands at the top and needed replacement. Getting the fittings for this was problematic, but I ordered them from US and after a couple weeks they arrived.
These fittings are stainless steel, made for 1/8" inch cable, same as original.
I was reading that Galvanized cable is a lot stronger than stainless steel cable, so was wondering if I should pair Galvanized cable with the SS fittings? Is that metal interaction going to cause issues over time? Will the cable rust inside the luff extrusion?
I like the idea of greater strength, especially considering the importance of this cable as it holds the mast up, and it also takes all the wind power.
Galvanized for strength, or SS for consistency?

Re: Strength or beauty?

There are a couple of issues to consider:

First, getting 1x19 construction in galvo isn't easy, and other wire construction will stretch too much for a forestay application.

Second, inside the furler foil there will be spots where the galvo gets worn off, and then rust will form, inside where you can't see it. Not a good look IMO.

Third, according to many affidavits here on CF, although kinda small the standard rigging is adequately strong, so the minor increment gained with galvo, if you could find it, isn't gonna be a big improvement.

Finally, if you still think you need to beef it up, you could switch to Dyform or Compact Strand wire in stainless of the original size. This wire stretches less than 1x19, is stronger, and is a good quality 316 base material.
