Tayana 52 Mast fitting

I recieved a sail mail email from friends today that are asking me to source a mast fitting for them, they are at sea half way across the pacific, I'm waiting on more clarification BUT while waiting I'd thought I'd ask here , maybe theres some Tayana owners that can give make this abot clearer for me. Message below.

". The T-piece that connects the inner shroud to the mast broke. it's the T fitting that has a male thread that screws into a Norseman terminal. I think the thread is 1/2 inch but having not removed it it may well be 5/8. The Norseman terminal suits 3/8 wire.*"

I figure hes talking about the intermediate shroud.

All advice appreciated.

Cheers Dale.

Re: Tayana 52 Mast fitting

Yes, and the norseman ones were rather rare and no longer available. Often it's damage to the plate in the mast that causes the T to break. Possible Searig in NZ can make one.
