Re: The right rope for outhaul?

Stretchy polyester braid - if you don't mind constantly tightening it it will do the job. As it's one of the most stressed ropes on the boom I use Spectra - low stretch. I found dyneema too slippery eb=ven in eccentric cleats.

That's a very broad statement.

Spectra and Dyneema are brand names for UHMWP (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) fibre from different manufacturers. There are many different ropes made with both all exhibiting different characteristics, including slipperiness, based on manufacturing methods including weave, coating with other materials (such as urethane0) and othe factors.
