Theres got to be a better way

I haven't run this config. But I dont like it.

My new spin and main halyard exit the mast very close.

I was thinking of running the main through a clutch. But I dont need another job.

Im hoping someone might have a suggestion on a better mousetrap.

All the best sailors.

Re: Theres got to be a better way

That’s pretty awful.

Is there a reason further up the mast this halyard has been routed like this?

Re: Theres got to be a better way

It isn't the right sort of block, and won't do as is, but it's not easy to see the alternatives from the photos. Could you back off a bit? You need a solution that properly attaches the block and conforms to the geometry of your halyards. With the two going to different destinations, it doesn't appear that a two sheave block will be the solution, so I'm curious about what space is available on the rack.

Have you thought about using a fiddle block?

Re: Theres got to be a better way

What about using a double block and then, if necessary to spread the two halyards apart, route them through a deck organizer like Spinlock has. But most likely the double block suffices. A fiddle block as it has been suggested above would work as well, but a double block routes the two lines a bit better.

Re: Theres got to be a better way

These 2 halyards go to 2 different deck organizers. I'll get more pics.

Perhaps I was overthinking it.
