From the 316 S/S Quick-Link specifications:
“... Choose at least two sizes larger than chain thickness to properly match the working load of the chain...”

Which, unfortunately, will not fit the chain!

for me, the best way to tie two pieces of chain is a link to be welded, and zinc paint on it
