A larger Portland Pudgy?

I really like the portland pudgy's but they are short by about two feet! Does anyone know of a comparable boat in a larger size?

Re: A larger Portland Pudgy?

I was just thinking something like a walker bay construction but planning ability and around 10-11'. I think it's going to be too heavy especially if with all the features of the pudgy.

Re: A larger Portland Pudgy?

I have a planning dinghy but its just slightly too large for our boat, so its either get a smaller RIB or get something like a Portland Pudgy that is more robust, can be sailed, etc.

Planning dinghies are fun but after you load two people and all the crap we usually move around in it, then without a 15hp it just doesn't plane; 15 HP is just to hard for my wife to start. So why have it? Plus you have to worry about cuts and holes, dragging it across hard/sharp areas, etc...

There are times where it would be nice to have a robust sailing dinghy... engine issues or for just plain fun. Also, the hull is unsinkable, can be used as a life raft, etc... but key is that it would fit well on our foredeck and be light enough to do so with one person.
