Re: AB or Carib dinghy?

Do you like the Carib?

The house brands are a lot cheaper, but I’m afraid to spend $2k and have a pile of rubber strips 3 years later…

We ended up going with the GoDu 10.5 and honestly really like it. Definitely the last dinghy I will ever need to buy.

All aluminum 10.5' boat= 166lbs
2023 Tohatsu 15hp 4 stroke= 96lbs
Fuel: 3gal= 18lbs
4 inflatable Jackets+Oar+Bag= 8lbs
GoDu compact Anchor+100' of line= 6lbs

Grand Total: 294lbs

Boat with motor only= 262lbs

So if you empty it before hoisting, it might work for you. Very close to your goal weight and you wont ever have to replace it.

Re: AB or Carib dinghy?

Are the bumpers enough to give the RIB style protection?

One of the biggest selling points of the RIB is the built in all around fenders (pontoons)

Our bumpers are 2 inches thick and offer solid protection- some kind of high density closed cell foam. I was told all the new models of the their boats come with 2" bumpers and 20hp rating.
