I agree with Paul that a 2 HP Honda should be adequate for your Walker Bay. I would also suggest that you consider the 2.5 HP Yamaha 4 stroke - recent tests established better performance and considerably less noise than the Honda. It does weigh about 10 pounds more, but has water cooling (the reason for less noise), a metal prop, a real transmission rather than a clutch and a much more substantial gear/throttle lever and transom attachment bracket/screws than the Honda. It will probably also cost you a few bucks less if you shop around.

Saw one advertised, not sure if it was new or used, for around $4,000.00. You will find that if the price is pretty hard to come by, that is because it is so expensive it scares folks away fast. I am sure all of the accessories are also expensive.

That price might be right for a Pudgy FULLY tricked out with sailing rig, liferaft exposure canopy, ALL the accesories.

But it is a lot higher than the price for the just the basic boat.

I met the designer of the Pudgy in Portland a few years back. He was a great guy. We test rowed the Pudgy around the harbor and although I wanted to love it in the worst way, I found her to be too small and too tippy. Build quality was awesome, and the design was really well thought out. I always hoped for a larger model, but the boats not too lite as a small dingy. There is no way 3 adults our size could be comfortable in this boat (I'm 6'2", wife 5"10") for long. I really, really wanted one, its just not practical...
