Can this dinghy be saved?

Hello and I hope you are having the fairest of fair winds.

Lugged the ole dinghy out of the shed as I have not used it the past two years due to some leaks and a lack of time to go deep on fixing them.

Fast forward and I have found the leaks and there are 5 all from previous patches. Four don't look not bad to fix.

However, the fifth one is right by a seam and there are three different slits/gashes under the previous patch. These are not pin pricks but instead maybe a half inch.

I recall seeing somewhere that holes along a seam are tough. Before I spend all the time to get the glue off, cleaned then patched I thought I would say what the braintrust thinks.

I inherited this for the right price (free) from my friend so I cannot take credit for all these holes.

Pictures attached.

Re: Can this dinghy be saved?

You need the right two part glue depending if hypalon or PVC. You need to thoroughly prepare the area and do the repair in right temperature and humidity, doing so otherwise can be a waste of time. Time is the uncosted factor here. If you have nothing better to then go for it, will set you back more dollars than you think in materials. Then another split could appear the following week/month year. Me I would dump it.

IMHO once you get big holes like that in an inflatable it is time to move on. Yes, you may be able to fix the ones you have now, but there will soon be others. It becomes an endless chase.
