FIXING HYPALON LEAKS WITH TIRE SEALER?

Bought some hypalon sealer from West marine about 3 years ago - worked great BTW. BUT it's leaking again, bought some more West Marine stuff and while fishing around for an air valve that got knocked inside one of the chambers, there was solid hardened chunks of the old sealant from 3 yrs ago.
Proof that it petrifies inside the tube over time.

Walking around Sam's club there was this green slimey looking tire sealant offered... question is has anyone dared to try something like this?

I've seen people use it. It doesn't really harden as much as the WM stuff. I believe I used it myself once. Much cheaper, but not quite as good.

Re: FIXING HYPALON LEAKS WITH TIRE SEALER?

The hypalon sealant I've used (at about 100 for a single "dose") worked great. However, I found it does harden into a stiff film that will eventually flake off. The flaking will be accelerated by deflating and folding/rolling the dink for stowage.

Haven't tried slime.

My experience with"slime" is that it doesn't flow well inside the tubes because its just too thick. I recommend "tube seal" or the West Marine stuff.
