Portabote Dinghy (Older Style) Seat Brackets

Hi,
I have a new-to-me older style (with the simple plywood seats) 8' PortaBote. I love it dearly but a couple of the plastic seat brackets have already broken. They really do seem pretty flimsy. I've seen the aluminum ones on eBay but they seem overkill and very expensive. Has anyone a better solution? Thanks.
