Re: What best sail boots

You buy em in a Marine Store, and they are made for working the deck of shrimp boats one of the more slippery decks around so I would say pretty good soles

Re: What Best Sail Boots

if you are kayaking and need warmth on feet, use the diving booties-- they are flexible and warm, as they are part of the wetsuit used in cold water.... try em.

Shrimp boot has heel not suited for sail deck, Dubarry boots are nice but I need to eat as well, muck boots look like I am going hunting looking at Vicking tall boot or the gill tall boot price around 50-70 $

In your area you want Xtra Tuffs. There are several different kinds-if you want to spoil yourself you can get the insulated ones. They're really warm. This is what Alaskan fishermen wear. I wear them daily for work in the boatyard as well, they are pretty bombproof. They do have (small) heels. I like the safety model with steel toes. The factory is 2 blocks from our boatyard so we get them cheap. I've worn them for many years and know countless other pro boaters who have as well. My wife buys me expensive Gills as a gift but I secretly prefer my insulated steel toe Xtra Tuffs.
