Yes, I had the same problem with. Falkon. The stripper moved slightly and was not operating correctly. Same issue as if the chain hole moved, changes the relationship, the geometry.

I beat it flat once again and reinstalled with more gusto so it would not move. Has worked well since.

There are few things a good hammer and a bad attitude can not fix. However the fix is usually a new part.

Glad to hear that we aren't alone. I've been chatting with Lewmar, but their US support is TERRIBLE. I was considering replacing out windlass with a Lewmar V6 -- but give their terrible support, I am not sure if spending the money on moving away from Lofrans makes sense.

I value good support a great deal!

A few years ago I needed a new Gypsy. At the time it appeared to me Defender was the sole USA distributor for Lofrans.

But I found 3 or 4 in Canada that had much better prices. I bought the Gypsy from BC I think.

It would probably make sense to carry a spare stripper finger.
