Peninsular Yachts, Langkawi used to sell chain, but I've heard they don't import chain anymore after having rust problems with Acco chain.

I got mine from Noel Bradley in Langkawi. He runs a small chandlery out of the Rebak hardstand and sells Australian made chain.

You might try these folks if you make it up Phuket way:

You heard right about Peninsular. Strangely, they still have a chain display in the store.

If you stopover in Singapore, suggest that you check-out Gaylin International for high quality chain. They supplied me with 100mtrs of high quality (made in Sweeden) chain. Gaylin is primarily concerned with the supply of massive anchor chain and wire rope to oil rigs, have four warehouses, and a very professional operation. Excellent service and prompt delivery.

Chain supplied by Gaylin was un-galvanised. I subsequently had my chain double-dipped galvanised in Penang by a reputable galvanizer and at a good price and with a 4 day pick-up and return.

Be aware that low cost galvanised "made in China" chain is available in S.E. Asia but the quality of steel strength and galvanising deserves futher investigation.
