Fortress or Danforth don't have a corner on the market for bent shanks or flukes. I have seen many a CQR with the forged I beam shank bent. It can happen to any anchor. The nice thing about the Danforth or Fortress is the straight line holding power vs weight etc. Normally at least double of other anchors. Those features make it a great backup anchor. Perfect? no. Haven't found one that is.
