Buying G4 Chain along US East Coast

I'd like to buy 1/2" G4 anchor chain, 300' . Any suggestions on a good place to pick up chain along the US East coast?

Logistics seem to be the biggest issue. Figuring out where to have 750 lbs of chain delivered, offloaded, brought to the dock and loaded on the boat. And, to dispose of the old chain.

Defender sells and delivers, but then logistics need to be considered.

Any happy customer stories?

Your best bet is getting it delivered to the marina, then moved to bulkhead where you can tie up and transfer the chain.

When I did mine, I was able to take delivery with a pickup truck at the chandlery. I then had to walk 10 foot sections at a time. So basically 10-20 feet of chain get walked about 10 feet. Then another 10-20 feet over and over. Now you've moved 10 feet.
Repeat over and over until you've slowly inchwormed it across the parking lot or down the dock. I ran mine over to the dinghy dock, then piled in in the dinghy, ran out to my mooring and loaded it into the boat from the dinghy using the windlass.

It took a couple of hours.

Yes - I am looking for suggestion on marinas capable of handling 750lbs of chain. I.e. offloading it from the truck and moving it to the dock. Probably requires a fork lift, or similar capability.

I ended up getting 400 feet of 3/8 delivered from defender to the marina. Then it was a couple of people from other boats and a couple of dock carts doing the funky dance down the dock at the same time. It was not pretty but it worked. The part that sucked the most was stretching it out to paint it every 20 feet.

Any boatyard with a dock can handle this for you. They all have forklifts.

This is not complicated. Most decent yards will also have an arrangement with a local recycling guy who will be happy to take away your old chain.

Have you considered regalvanizing? It can be done at a fraction of the cost of new chain.

Seems like pretty big chain for a 450.

Most marinas/boatyards can't drive a forklift on their docks. You could probably arrange to come into their travel lift pit, where they could drive a forklift up to the edge, and then get a few people to feed the chain down to the boat.
