Bow vs. pin in anchor ... perhaps not so simple.

Bow shackles are rated for side loads (50%) and engineers use them that way all the time. They are not rated for cross loads, which can happen with slots, which is why industrial riggers never use slots.


These are two of the strongest, best proven anchors ever made. Not scoop, but strong.


(the original Bruce had a hole, not a slot)
