Hallo Steve
Liros speccially makes this 50 meters 16 mm weighted line for us on our request and it is finished with an SS Thimble and comes in a nice bag.
Lead is used for the weigth.

Hallo Gmac the first 15 meters is weighted on the anchor chain side with lead and yes we run it thru a winch with a chain rode wheel made for 8 mm DIN 766 chain made by Muir and it runs thru the winch perfect.

Greetings

Interesting. We have been trialling some weighted line for a couple of years now with good results. It does tend to get beaten up a bit by anchor winches though.

The chain wheel you have is one for chain only or a rope/chain combo?

Thanks for the info by the way. Good to chat with someone using stuff like this which our nose over their shoulder

Hallo Gmac

the wheel we use is for chain rope combination and we have very little wear.

A good back splice looks a lot neater and should go through the windlass more easily.
