Disengaging Clutch?

Hello, I have a Lofrans' Progress 2 Windlass (SN PD 002 592) and I cannot get the clutch to disengage when I loosen the nut? Any ideas please?

Re: Disengaging Clutch?

They can be sticky. Sometimes I need to snub the chain to get them to free up. Once you get the cones free, keep them clean and lubed.

Re: Disengaging Clutch?

Hi Guy, thanks for the prompt reply, my chain is snubbed, no load on it, so how do I access the cones, do I strip the top off?
