DIY mooring pendant mast buoy for catamarans

Have anybody made their own pendant and buoy stick to use when coming back to a mooring?

I am thinking that a 6ft tall fiberglass stick may do the trick, but rather than reinventing on my own, I wanted to ask the members how they source the materials to make one. I had a rescue buoy that was stolen recently so need to make this now.

Just buy one ready made. Unless you have parts lying around the juice isn’t worth the squeeze, imho.

Tapered cylindrical segmented poles constructed from a unidirectional, organic, carbon neutral, reinforcing material that floats.

It comes in various lengths and thicknesses.
Typical uses include scaffolding, plumbing, fencing, flooring and fishing.

You wont find this stuff at the chandlery.
Good availability world wide under the brand name Bamboo.

Without the lead weight at the bottom, it won't be vertical in the water. Do you have something to use for that?
