I've set several in the Cove where I live. Weather events are always a concern but a well done mooring is up to the task. Mine has seen many winds of over sixty knots and a couple hurricanes. Just put one out for a friend that consists of an old car engine block. Cleaned of course and with a good length of chain run through it. Shackled to that are two equal length three strand lines with bights spliced in to loop over both forward cleats. My boat also has small lines on each cleat to tie down the mooring lines as an extra precaution.
