dual roller for Delta?

We have been using a 55# Delta on our 44' boat for years and love it...learn your anchor...in any case it seems to always want to come up upside down as it engages the bow roller...this causes strain on the swivel and it sometimes jams in the roller bracket as it turns up right....there is no problem with the roller and there is minimal if any chain twist...has anyone had this problem? Has using a dual roller helped the problem and if so, which dual roller did you use? Lewmar is not much help....

Re: dual roller for Delta?

We have the opposite problem, our Delta comes up the right way so the vicious tip threatens to take chunks out of the gelcoat until we have control of it. The only advantage we have is the Delta weighs just 10kg, so I can man handle it with one hand. Oh yes great anchors too

Re: dual roller for Delta?

When you raise the anchor you probably have a process you always use. That is you are always slightly moving forward or you are always backing slightly. This is causing the anchor to always be in the same orientation.

I think if you are moving forward slowly the anchor will leave the surface in the correct orientation.

Since I'm making this up and assuming the orientation of the anchor with forward motion if I am wrong you will have to back instead.

Re: dual roller for Delta?

This is right there with traffic lights going red EVERY time I approach, and being in the work lane for highway repairs.
My 35lb CQR lunch hook has only 20ft of 5/16, and it comes up tits-up every time--or so it seems.
Looking forward to the answers.

Ah-ha moment!! you need to swap anchors with Pete 7
