Help with identifying capstan

Hi

I am newly registered but I have been lurking around for a while.

I have a Hudson Force 50 that have two capstan winches that I am rebuilding. unfortunately I donīt have any documentation and I donīt even know the brand. What I do now is that the bolts are metric which would imply european?

The only markings are the ones that are shown in the pictures.

I would be grateful if someone recognize them.

What's your location? I have a never installed Lewmar ocean series that I bought for my previous boat, a 40 footer about ten years ago. I think I paid 3K plus for it. If you're interested, it has all the remote switches, wiring, manual, etc. I'll sell it to you for 1K. It's a vertical with 5/16" gypsy.

Hi,
I don't know if that's how they mark their capstans but I thought that "So Pac" might stand for South Pacific and sure nuff there is an Australian manufacturer of capstans called South Pacific Industrial Pty Ltd, who do make capstans and windlasses.
The link will get you there but after a quick look I couldn't see anything like your model, but then it looks a few years old and no doubt has been replaced by later models. Might be worth a look.

Thanks a lot for the link I have contacted them as well as the Sopac company.

And as you say it is not a new model but what I have seen so far they are in good condition. A good cleaning, some new gaskets and perhaps a new bearing and they will have quite a long lifespan left in them.

Apparently they donīt make the winches but they but they were kind enough to forward my questions to the manufacturer. They seem to be manufactured by a company named "Powerline". Anyone heard about them?

As we already determined my google skills are not what they should be...
