Me, too! (Well, for the pedantic, I, too!)

Our dinghy was ripped from atop the dock by a howling squall and the contents, including the anchor, were lost as it did a couple of flips and landed inverted.

We were so pushed at the time that I forgot to get an anchor replacement...

Smaller is better for the dinghy, but ours (see the gallery) is two sizes over what came with the boat, and for our increased displacement (DD 33000, reality 44000 fully loaded), is actually just about right per Rocna's sizing chart.

Re: Is my Rocna to big?

I wrote a post way back when I had the same questions, there is a graphic way of seeing how close you are to Rocna's sizing recommendations in Post #1 and a table comparing the weight / area increases as you go up in size in Post #43. It might help your decision...

Re: Is my Rocna to big?

If you can handle it, it ain't too big.

It may be big, but it does not look big. Keep it, keep on rolling. You will sleep well out at anchor.

Cheers,
b.

Re: Is my Rocna to big?

Too big? Nah.

I've a Rocna 25kg on a 3.5 ton catamaran. In fact in a recent blow it held both my boat and a 15.5m mono.

Lots of wind (15 m/s), wind shifts and No dragging. My boat is a dufour with 7,5 ton deplacement. That said I would stick with the 25 kg if I where you. I'll post a pic of the bow roller with the rocna on tomorrow so you get some ideas of how it can look

Yeah they do create quite a hassle with the bow rollers. Do you know if it's possible to alter the standard systems offered for Batsytem the Swedish bowsprit company to allow rocna?

Any chance of the pic of the roller.
