Nope, those are them. Los Coromueles (core-oh-mwells).

Where were you getting nailed by them? It's pretty exclusive to Bahia de La Paz (including Isla Partida and Espiritu Santo). The first night they kicked the crap out of me, but after we got used to 20-30 knots all night long it just became tradition to prep for wind at night and then it was quite nice to have the evening breeze.

If you had say 50 feet of chain and nylon rode then I'd have a kellet aboard but with a 150feet and a 20 lb er I think I'd leave it at home

Ahhh, memories of the Sea of Cortez (sorry Zee, that's what I choose to call it!)... the place where you motor all day to reach an anchorage that you will be blown out of that night!

But we sure had a good time there!

I don't remember exactly but I think it was the anchorage with the fiberglass mushroom rock. I only spent a few weeks in the Sea of Cortez b/c of work for me and school for the kids. My son is a Sophmore now so only two more years.
