Re: Mantus Anchor Swivel safety wire

I have had the seizing wire break 3-4 times in just a few years. I was always careful to twist the wire tight and then shove the twisted end back into the hole so there was no exposed wire. I like the ideas of a cotter pin.

Re: Mantus Anchor Swivel safety wire

Great info all round ......... I have had no issue with the stainless wire ... But like the idea of "hiding" it in the hole and using seperate wires for each side of the swivel drum ..... will probably switch to the cotter pin ...I think that is a great idea.

Re: Mantus Anchor Swivel safety wire

The Mantus swivel takes 4 safety wires. In the last three years, I had one safety wire break once. When it broke, I removed all the safety wires, took the swivel apart, cleaned it and used a little Mercury 3c on the contacting parts, reassebled and re-wired 4 new wires.
