Maxwell RC8-8 Rode

Good Morning,
We just purchased a new Maxwell RC8-8 windlass on the understanding it would accept 5/16 chain and 5/8 rode. Many major retailers such as Westmarine & Binnacle declaim these tolerances in their ads for the product.
However upon reading Maxwells manual, it states this model to accept only 9/16 rope??? I then found a Maxwell Technical data sheet that states it will accept 9/16 & 5/8 rope.
I will reach out the Maxwell to confirm, just wondering if anyone else has this model and if they’ve successfully used 5/8 3-strand rode?
