No I was the dancing blue lights on the lifelines while anchored guy. If they bother you you probably were too close.

I’d agree with that!

In big wide open anchorages with many boats and near a town and with mast head strobes, they may not seem like a big deal. But in a small, dark cove, especially if surrounded by hills or cliffs, an overly bright anchor light, or, God forbid, a strobe, it can be incredibly annoying and completely unnecessary.

If I see a strobe anchor light in the USA I'm calling the Coast Guard.
