Passeport Escales

The UK marina group Marina Developments Limited (MDL) has relationships with marina groups In France and Spain via a system called Passeport Escales. As well as being able to have extensive ‘free’ nights throughout their own range of marinas free nights can be enjoyed at numerous marinas that are members of Passeport Escales.

We are thinking of heading south from the east of England next year and perhaps leaving our boat in southern France/northern Spain next winter. Whilst we could join one of the MDL marinas and get access to their marinas in England and odd nights at the partner marinas in France and Spain, I was wondering whether it might be better to choose a, say, French marina group that’s a member of Passeport Escales. This would perhaps give us access to the English MDL marinas plus other marinas in France/Spain and also allow us to over winter at our chosen French or Spanish marina as this would be our ‘Home’ berth.

I’d be grateful for any assistance as follows:

Is my thinking correct?
Which marina groups in France/Spain are members of Passeport Escales?
Any suggestions for good, safe, easy to get to (fly to) marinas perhaps between La Rochelle and Santander?
