Powered Lofrans Royal ?

Hi, I recently just upgraded my primary anchor and chain on my boat and in the process needed to replace my chain wildcat/gypsy. My questions is that I am not sure exactly what model winch I have. The winch itself, is probanly 1992 vintage and looks almost identical to a Loframs royal manual, but mine is powered.

I can't seem to find any info on it from Lofrans site. Anyone know what it is? My primary concern would be finding a manual/service manual for it and the possibility of a motor replacement if mine should fail.

Thanks!

A couple of years ago there was a powered Royal on ebay. First time I had heard of one. Not to say I'm in a position to hear much about them though....

Re: Powered Lofrans Royal?

I have had no luck finding parts for it other than parts that are standard lofrans stuff like the chain gypsy. Luckily it is still working and I havn't needed anything other yet!

Finally, the mystery is solved! The windlass is an Lofrans Panther manufactured until 1988. I managed to get spareparts and if anyone wants some informatuion regarding this particulary windlass, contact me in cold Sweden!

Hi,
I know you post was a while ago, is it still possible to get a new motor for the lofrans panther?
I've been told that the factory no longer makes them.
Regards
Gary

Re: Powered Lofrans Royal ?

Hi GaryCross, Hows the Panther windlass holding up over the years?
I've recently bought a roject boat witht the same Panther windlass and I can bearly find anything online concerning the spare parts that I might need over time. Would you have some more information regarding this?
Can the parts still be found and is there some sort of parts list/catalogue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings from cold but sunny Venice, Italy.

Cheers,
Max
