Removing the windlass

I need some help here ..... trying to remove the electric motor but I think this whole thing is so corroded that I have to replace the whole thing. How to get this all apart?

The above deck part is probably on a shaft with a key. The nuts below deck on the flange, above the motor hold it all together. Worst case, remove the end cap screws on the motor and remove the the field windings with the motor housing (frame), leaving just the armature and the shaft up to the captstan. Then beat the crap out of it with a big hammer.

Top picture, remove the four nuts holding the motor housing. Bash the motor housing with a heavy hammer until it drops off the capstan shaft. Bash the capstan, remove.
