Replacment for Lewmar Cocept 1 windlass

I am looking for a replacement for the Lewmar Cocept 18mm, 12V windlass which fits into the old deck holes.
Lewmar V2 looks like one possibility,
but I wonder if Lofrans X2 is a good joice too?
What about just replacing the gear and motor unit? Or is that a bad joice with a 40 year old windlass?
any other options?

I don't know how old my windlass is, but it's probably a 1950s model. Nothing wrong with old. The question is whether you can find a replacement motor or repair the one you've got. Lewmar still lists the gypsies for the Concept models.

Are you prepared to replace bearings, or can you find a good shop?
