Slide Presentation on Anchoring.

I found this link interesting. It is a slide presentation given by Daria and Alex Blackwell authors of the book "Happy Hooking".

With 26 pages and over 150 slides it, covers most of the basic aspects of anchoring. While we could never have an anchoring topic where everyone agreed ,but overall it seems great advice.

Re: Slide Presentation on Anchoring.

Another New Anchor Presentation.

This one is by Dave and Sherry McCampbell of Soggy Paws

Almost 200 pages, so it is quite comprehensive and dated November 2013 so it covers the newer anchors

Don't forget Beth and Evans (Estarzinger) that have a great presentation here:

They also have an earlier anchoring guide here:
http://www.bethandevans.com/pdf/Anchorsteps.pdf

And lots of other general sailing articles here:

Re: Slide Presentation on Anchoring.

I love how they refer to rocna as "genuine Rocna" and spend time on "did manson copy rocna", Rocna was far from the first of its type, wasn't even the second roll bar anchor let alone the first. I also get a small smile when I see catenary being discussed, I thought it was generally accepted now that catenary is a furphy in peak winds. You need scope, but it assists on angle of pull and its own weight, in peak winds the chain has no catenary. (On boats like ours)
