Smart Phone Anchor Alerts ?

I'm looking for a smart phone anchor alert that will text another number from the phone should the anchor drag, anyone know of one?

I.e. leave the smart phone on board with anchor alarm, take other phone with you, should anchor alert go off, the app on smart phones texts or calls the other phone?

should be able to do that with one of their products. You could also monitor other things like water in a bilge.

The SAT4D would be a great option. 5 year battery life and Satellite link. You could leave your boat anywhere in the world and monitor it. Not cheap but not unreasonable either.

Cheap easy solution there. Looks like you just add a sim card to them and they call out when they are moved outside a set area : TrackPro - Mini Global GPS Tracker

You didn't mention which platform, but Android has My Anchor Watch. The pro version has the ability to send sms to another number.

I have purchased a few items from a few different companies in Asia, and have for the most part been pretty satisfied.
I would prefer to buy American/Canadian , but China owns it all anyhow..so grin and bare it.

Last week I was nervous about the mooring I tied to and set my anchor alarm. The "bad gps coverage" alarm would keep going off giving me a start and I would fire out of bed like my ass was on fire. Finally just gave up on sleep.

I never thought of the false alarm aspect, seen a couple of anchor apps that can text you sms, so a cheap andriod phone, international sim card in the android phone, another cheapo phone with international sim in it and off you go, ok would only be good where a phone signal is available, but better than nothing and much cheaper than satellite based services.

Just downloaded Drag Queen by ActiveCaptain. Free for the iphone. Haven't tested it yet, but reviews are positive.

We use Anchor Alert and have been happy so far. It works great on my Samsung Galaxy S.
