Good thing that once you start, your not going to have much chance to anchor.

Lord love a duck, you'd think the owner would be more concerned about what is holding his boat in place.

Re: Typical Anchoring Depths in Caribbean

6 to 8m typically. Sometimes up to 12m. 2.7m draft and so I anchor deeper and need a bit more chain than most. If you get into the bay last and it is full, you may be next to me in 12m, so maybe a 70m min rode would be ok.

Usually about 5 to 25 feet, but occasionally up to 70 feet. I carry 300 feet of 3/8 High Tensile (wouldn't carry any less, since I am often last in) and a Spade A200.

Post your typical anchoring depths in the Caribbean.
You could also post your deepest anchorage ever in the Caribbean.
This information would be helpful in choosing a rode.
Thanks
Wherever you anchor, beware of charter (sail)boats : Oftentimes they don't know what they're doing, oftentimes they're three sheets to the wind ! I remember in Jost Van Dike (Virgin Islands) a charter sailboat that anchored windward of Marie-Soleil, dragged its anchor on us in the middle of the night. I had to explain to its "captain" that THEY dragged on us & not the opposite, that my 90 foot anchor & chain were holding on & that I couldn't drag upwind as there was little current & that it was also from the East
