Unusual Anchor

Anyone know what this is? Sort of a one-armed Danforth/CQR

It is a little hard to see the overall shape from the photo, but it looks like a Barnacle anchor.

Thanks. Indeed; interesting design seems to echo a bit of CQR thinking. Don't necessarily like the long lever point that the tip can exert, though. Anyway, I find it fun to see some of the less common pieces of gear.

Yes, that is Barnacle anchor.

I have never seen this design so my comments are second hand, but it seems to do best in a soft mud bottom. Here is a link to a summary of test report where the Barnacle did well:

There is a more detailed report of the test available. I do not have a link, but perhaps a search will revel some more details.
