Re: Windlass Remote WITH Chain Counter !

Yes! I love it. It's mountable to my foredeck windlass control box, mounted to the pulpit. This keeps me from accidentally stepping on a switch and catching toes or fingers in the gypsy. I also added several DPDT rocker switches to duplicate the remote capacity in fixed locations in the bilge so I could stow chain further aft for long passages. At the helm I have the remote fixed mount with meter.

I can stand at the bow roller, operating the remote counter, while washing down the chain with a high-pressure, high volume water pump and hose nozzle. It's great to be able to clean the mud off the chain before stowing it.

Thank you. And you find that the chain counter "counts" well? is it in both meters and feet?

Re: Windlass Remote WITH Chain Counter !

We have the Quick remote without the chain counter. I can't remember where our foot switches are...

Re: Windlass Remote WITH Chain Counter !

You can select whatever measurement system you wish. Push the bottom SELECT button to go to the data item "Calibration". Scroll down to "Set Measure". Choose meters or feet, then press the bottom button again. You will then go into the calibration phase for setting the zero point of where you measure your chain from.

If you have a problem, I'll find the website for the download of the manual for you.

Re: Windlass Remote WITH Chain Counter !

We have been using the Quick hand-held controllers--both wired and wireless--since 2006 and they have been very reliable and trouble free. We do not use the Chain-counter but, knowing the rate that the windlass discharges chain, simply count the seconds it's activated and keep an eye on the wire-tie tails (attached to the chain at two fathom intervals) as they run over the chain roller.

FWIW...
